Hospitalized war veterans from Butler County will be among approximately 1,000 such veterans who will enjoy a day aboard the Gateway Clipper riverboat Majestic Sept. 6 to 9. The event is hosted by Sharing & Caring, a volunteer organization devoted to providing a variety of programs for veterans throughout the year.

Veterans from Butler area facilities, including the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Autumn Grove Care Center, Colonial Gardens, Outlook Pointe, LAS Passavant Retirement Home and New Haven Court are participating in the event.

During the ride they will enjoy a hot lunch, entertainment, gifts, prizes and contests. Upon leaving the boat, the veterans will receive gym bags filled with personal care and grooming items, radios, sweatshirts and many other items.
