An eye for flowers

Concordia resident Ruthann Sulitz waters the normally hardy Black-Eyed Susans to help them withstand the hot summer heat and humidity. Black-Eyed Susans are perennial daisies or coneflowers that are members of the sunflower family. The plant usually flowers between May and August and sometimes reaches a height of 2 to 3 feet.
