Daniel Krause of New Wilmington, formerly of Butler, will leave July 13 for basic training at Fort Leonardwood, Mo.He is the son of David and Margaret (Osche) Graham and Glenn Krause.He attended Butler High School until September 2000, when he moved to New Wilmington and is a 2003 graduate of Wilmington High School. He also completed one year at Robert Morris University.---Army Reserve Spec.

Eric Haas has deployed to Kuwait to assist in vessel transport and cargo operations in direct support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.The soldier is a member of the 595th Transportation Terminal Group, which is one of four transportation groups in the Army's Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command and conducts all of the U.S. Central Command's seaport operations. In Kuwait, servicemembers operate in the port of Shuaiba, the busiest military seaport in the world.Haas, a port operations coordinator with 13 years of military service, is the son of Sue Haas of Valencia.The specialist is a 1992 graduate of Shaler High School.---Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class

Jessica Ritterbusch, daughter of Manuela and David Curran of East Brady, made a port visit to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, during a scheduled deployment, while assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, homeported in Bremerton, Wash.During the visit, members of Ritterbusch's unit took time to read, play and assist in teaching children at the Rashid Pediatric Therapy Center in Dubai, where the school's 130 children have a variety of disabilities and range in age from 3 to 15.Ritterbusch, a 1998 graduate of Karns City High School, joined the Navy in November 2001.---Navy Lt.

Douglas Pugliese, brother of Danielle Meehan of Glenshaw and Frank A. Pugliese of Berwyn, Chester County, and more than 2,100 Marines and Sailors assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit are in the middle of a scheduled deployment with the Kearsarge Expeditionary Strike Group to the Mediterranean in support of the global war on terrorism.Pugliese is a 1994 graduate of Butler High School and joined the Navy in July 1999. He received a bachelor's degree from Indiana (Pa.) University and received his MD degree from Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia.
