Williamsport pitcher and Butler graduate Jake Cuffman picked up his first win of the season Friday in a 7-3 victory over Hudson Valley in Class A short-season baseball action.

Cuffman, a graduate of Butler High School, tossed three shutout innings of relief, striking out five, walking one and allowing two hits.

In eight innings over three games this season, Cuffman is 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA with nine strikeouts and four walks.

The Hotspurs-PSV 18-under squad picked up a 2-0 victory over Bruno United FC (Rhode Island) at the United States Youth Soccer Region 1 Championships Saturday in Virginia Beach, Va.They followed up with a 4-0 blanking over Concord ROMA (Delaware) on Sunday to reach the semifinal round.Slippery Rock High graduate Greg Walter is the team's goalie and Ryan Elser (Seneca Valley) and Thomas Reinmiller (Sewickley Academy) of Cranberry Township are also members of the team.The Hotspurs were scheduled to face the PDA Conquistadors (New Jersey) at 8:45 a.m. Monday.
