Both golfers carded an 85.
Tracy shot an 82 to win the Division C qualifier at Clingan's Tanglewood Golf Course in Pulaski.
Brian Minto's 10-round professional heavyweight fight against Jermell Barnes has been rescheduled for July 12 at the Butler Days Inn.The fight had been scheduled for June 28, but Barnes (17-8) requested more time to recover from a hand injury. Minto is 19-1.
Baylor's men's basketball team was banned Thursday from playing nonconference games for one season and placed on five years' probation by the NCAA for numerous rules violations found after a former player murdered a teammate in 2003.Gene Marsh, chairman of the Division I Committee on Infractions and a professor of law at Alabama, said he believes it is the first time the NCAA has instituted a partial ban on regular-season games in basketball.He said the committee seriously considered banning Baylor's program for a season.GOLF
HARRISON, N.Y. - Vijay Singh's temper was a lot shorter than his round.After taking more than five hours to complete his round in the Barclays Classic Thursday, the second-ranked Singh blasted PGA Tour rules officials for allowing slow players to reduce the pace to a crawl.The big Fijian had little to say about the 3-under 68 that left him three strokes behind first-round leader Jim Furyk, choosing instead to rant about the slow play on the hilly, tree-lined Westchester Country Club course.Under the tour's 2½-year-old policy, players are considered to be on the clock when their group is out of position - defined by an open hole ahead of them.
CHERRY HILLS VILLAGE, Colo. - Annika Sorenstam conquered her nerves and broke even with tough Cherry Hills Thursday, finishing with an even-par 71 that left her two shots behind Angela Stanford and 19-year-old amateur Brittany Lang when the first round of the U.S. Women's Open was suspended.Karine Icher of France was at 2 under with four holes left when play was suspended by storms in the area, with 48 players unable to complete their round.Michelle Wie, the 15-year-old from Hawaii who was second behind Sorenstam at the LPGA Championship, again put herself near the top of the leaderboard with back-to-back birdies on the back nine, starting with a 20-footer on the par-3 12th. She was at 1 under with three holes to play, facing a delicate chip from just off the 16th green.
