MILTON, Fla. - Jim Thorpe and Morris Hatalsky parred the first hole of a playoff before play was suspended because of darkness Sunday night in the Champions Tour's Blue Angels Classic. They were scheduled to resume play Monday morning.

Thorpe, coming off a victory two weeks ago in the FedEx Kinko's Classic in Lakeway, Texas, forced the playoff with a 10-foot birdie putt on the final hole of regulation.

Thorpe closed with a 3-under 67 and Hatalsky had a 66 to complete 54 holes at 16-under 194 on the Moors Golf Club course.

VIENNA, Austria - Martin Rucinsky set up Vaclav Prospal's first-period goal and scored one of his own in the third to help the Czech Republic deny Canada its third straight title and win the world championship 3-0 Sunday.Tomas Vokoun, named the tournament's best goalie, made 29 saves. The Czechs hadn't won the gold since 2001.Earlier in the day, Maxim Afinogenov had two goals and an assist to lead Russia to a 6-3 victory over Sweden for the bronze medal.

HAMBURG, Germany - Roger Federer beat French teenager Richard Gasquet 6-3, 7-5, 7-6 (4) Sunday to defend his Hamburg Masters title and win his tour-leading sixth championship of the year.The Hamburg event is a major clay-court warm-up for the French Open, which starts May 23.

DUESSELDORF, Germany - The United States lost to Germany 2-1 Sunday in the World Team Cup after dropping both singles matches.Tommy Haas topped Vincent Spadea 6-2, 6-4 and Nicolas Kiefer beat Jeff Morrison 6-2, 6-2. But the Americans got one point in doubles when Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan defeated Haas and Alexander Waske 6-7 (4), 7-6 (5), 7-5.Defending champion Chile topped the Czech Republic 2-1.
