Pitchers lead Rock sweep
Rocky D'Angelo and Dan Herisko each pitched a complete game as the Slippery Rock University baseball team picked up 7-1 and 8-3 triumphs over host Lock Haven Friday.
D'Angelo (7-1) stuck out five, walked one and allowed just three hits in the opener. Herisko (5-1) fanned eight with two walks and scattered eight hits.
Knoch graduate Chase Rowe homered and singled, Dave Gonos had a triple and three RBI and J.D. Lowry and Matt Kozusko each had two hits for The Rock.
In the nightcap, Chris Tolliver drove in three runs, and Rowe and B. Wilson had two RBI apiece for SRU (30-12, 11-7).
SRU will host Lock Haven in a doubleheader Saturday.

Grove City College held off a furious late-game rally to post an 11-7 victory over Waynesburg College Friday.
The Wolverines used six hits in the fifth inning, including four doubles, to take a 7-2 lead. An insurance solo home run by Michael McMillen in the seventh inning opened up a six-run advantage.
Waynesburg used a five-run seventh inning to make it 8-7, but the Wolverines plated three runs in the ninth to seal the win.
Grove City College placed third at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships Friday at Spiedel Golf Course in Wheeling, W. Va.Tyler Fitch led the way with a 72-76-148, followed by Tony Zanotti (80-81-161, Seneca Valley graduate Alex Intihar (80-83-163) and Union graduate Dustin Sams (82-89-171).The women's team placed fourth at the PAC Championship at Crispin Golf Course, also in Wheeling. Mary Brown led the charge by carding a 90-82-172.
Top-seeded Ashley Michaux of SRU defeated Corin Rombach of Clarion 6-4, 6-1 and Olga Gonzalez of California (Pa.) 6-1, 6-1 to and advance to the semifinals of the PSAC women's individual championships at Indiana (Pa.).The defending runner-up to teammate Jessica Bungo last year, Michaux will take on Iida Hokkanen of Bloomsburg Saturday. Should Michaux win, she will face the winner of the match between Yvonne Neiderbracht (IUP) and Lina Pavilionyte (Shippensburg).Michaux and Kate Ingram competed in doubles competition as the No. 3 seed but lost to Kutztown 8-5. Michaux and Bungo won the doubles crown last year. Ingram also played as an individual, losing her first match to Bloomsburg 6-1.In men's action, Ryan Steeh and John Crossley lost their doubles match and their only individual matches.Steeh lost to Dan Gal of Bloomsburg by default and Crossley lost to Derek Tomasino of East Stroudsburg 6-1, 6-0.The duo lost to Jeff Kurz and Pat Luchowski of East Stroudsburg 8-3 in doubles play.
