GCC women 2nd at invite
At the four-team Geneva College Merriman Butler Invitational last Friday, senior Christine Rummel (Knoch) helped lead the Grove City College women's track and field team to a second-place finish in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1 minute, 12.49 seconds while Michelle Borza was third (1:16.29).
The women's team placed fourth in the meet with 98 points behind NAIA Malone (223), Division I Robert Morris (198) and Geneva (133).
In the men's meet, the Wolverines placed fourth out of six teams with 129½ points.
Grove City was the only non-scholarship program in the field. Malone won with 218½ points.
Andrew Kloes won the 5,000 with a school-record time of 15:27.67, which qualifies him for the ECAC Championships.
The Wolverines also enjoyed four second-place finishes. Freshman Bob Rummel (Knoch) was fourth in the 400 hurdles (58.90).
