A NEW KIND OF HORSEPOWER

Firefighters stand in front of one of Butler's first self-propelled fire trucks. According to former Fire Chief Fred Zorb, the photograph was likely taken around 1910 in front of the old Central Fire Station on North Street. Zorb said the truck was probably driven by his father, Irving Zorb, who was the first driver when the department switched from horses to motorized vehicles.
