The Butler County Historical Society recently received a $10,000 general operating support grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

The grant directly matches funding from the Butler County Commissioners and will be used to support payroll and office expenses for the current fiscal year.

During its recent installation dinner, the Notables Barbershop Chorus of Butler installed new officers and presented its annual awards.

Bernie Petrak of Butler received the Barbershopper of the Year award for his work as show chairman.

Jack Whitehead of Zelienople received the Accentuate the Positive award for his positive attitude and eagerness to participate in chorus projects.
