Slippery Rock University will host the National Women's Wheelchair Basketball Tournament for the second consecutive year.
The 31st annual event, which features the U.S. junior national team for the first time - takes place Feb. 24 through 26 at Aebersold Recreation Center.
The tournament brings 125 adult players from around the country and the games are open to the public at no charge.
Games take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. The U.S, junior national squad plays at 11 a.m. Feb. 26.
Pittsburgh's Steel City Starz will play in the tournament. The team is coached by John Sikora of Freeport and its players include Norah Schneider of Slippery Rock and SRU student Diana Helt.
Kim Bender of Slippery Rock is an assistant coach the Starz.
SRU and the Hope Network will sponsor the tournament.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Emmitt Smith retired Thursday after a 15-year career in which he became the NFL's career rushing leader and played a key role on three Super Bowl champions in Dallas.The 35-year-old Smith ran for 18,355 yards and 164 touchdowns in his career, both NFL records. He closed it out by running for 937 yards and nine touchdowns in Arizona this season.
