<B>The Rotary Club of Butler</B> recently donated $1,000 to <B>Lifesteps</B>. The funds were used for the Merry Moments with Santa Christmas party held recently at the Meadowbrook Residential Community.
<B>Betsy Stowe</B> of Slippery Rock received five writing awards for her poetry and photography gift book, "Calico Tales and Others" by Infinity Publishing.Included in those was the World's Best Cat Litterary Award, sponsored by the World's Best Cat Litter, at the 2004 Communication Contest awards banquet of the Cat Writers' Association on Nov. 20 in Houston. The event was part of the association's professional conference.Stowe's book, "Calico Tales and Others," features more than 50 poems and each poem is illustrated with a photograph of a cat.Her book is available at Gallery 164 on Main Street in Slippery Rock, the Slippery Rock University Campus Bookstore, Orchard Creek Veterinary Hospital in Harrisville, Grove City Agway, and Unicorn Cards & Gifts in Butler, www.amazon.com, www.buybooksontheweb.com, www.ebay.com or by calling 877-buybook.A portion of the proceeds from the sale of each book will go to support animal shelters.
