Duce unlikely to play Sunday
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers running back Duce Staley missed practice again Thursday with a sore hamstring that has kept him out of two games, meaning he is unlikely to play Sunday in Cincinnati.
Staley hasn’t played since injuring the hamstring in practice Nov. 5, two days before the Steelers played his former team, the Eagles. Jerome Bettis replaced Staley with consecutive 100-yard games against Philadelphia and Cleveland.
Staley ran for 123 yards in a 28-17 victory over Cincinnati on Oct. 3
Bettis was held out of practice Wednesday to rest after carrying 62 times for 252 yards the last two weeks, but practiced Thursday.
Also practicing were four players listed as questionable: tight end Matt Cushing (wrist), running back Verron Haynes (toe), fullback Dan Kreider (shoulder) and defensive end Kimo von Oelhoffen (back).
