The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team was denied one of the four berths for the upcoming Northeast Regional playoffs.
West Chester, Indiana (Pa.), Long Island-Southampton (N.Y.) and Adelphia (N.Y.) were the four teams chosen.

The FCA Gems won a pair of competitions at the Atlantic Cheer and Dance Competition at Kiski High School Saturday.The Pink Ice squad (second grade and under) placed first in the PeeWee Division and the Diamonds (grades five through 11) placed first in the Senior Division.The Diamonds also had the highest score of the day in the All-Star Division.The Gems return to action at the ELITE Pennsylvania Cheerleading and Dance Championships Sunday at the University of Pittsburgh.
Mike Prioletti, a member of the Grove City College football team, registered a team-high 13 tackles in a 9-6 loss to Westminster Saturday.Prioletti, a graduate of Seneca Valley, also had one sack and one tackle for a loss.
Mars High grad Mallory Bugel, a freshman on the Westminster women's soccer team, had one of the Titans' four penalty kicks in a 5-4 victory that gave the squad its third consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference title Saturday over top-seeded Grove City College.
Seneca Valley graduate and Bloomsburg University sophomore Justin Shepherd earned All-Region honors from Saturday's NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships at Indiana (Pa.).Shepherd placed eighth overall in the 10K race with a time of 32 minutes, 41 seconds. Shepherd placed 16th last year at the D-II Regionals and missed the all-region honor by one place.
The Grove City College men's and women's soccer teams were well represented on the Presidents Athletic Conference all-star teams, highlighted by Women's Coach of the Year Melissa Lamie and Player of the Year Kate Klingensmith.Joining Klingensmith, a midfielder, on the first team were forward Michelle Novosel and midfielder Mara Siber.Midfielders Leah Partridge and Kristin Hummel were named second-team and honorable mention, respectively.On the men's side, back Adam Ludwig and forward Bob McNees were named to the first team, Nate Jones to the second team and midfielder Jonathan Breese and forward Peter Williams were honorable mentions.

Knoch graduate Candice Jenkins, a freshman midfielder on the LaRoche College women's soccer team, was named to the American Mountain Collegiate Conference's honorable mention team.
