Drew Brees, Chargers, threw a career-high five touchdown passes and set the team single-game record for pass efficiency by going 22-for-25, 88 percent, for 281 yards in a 42-14 romp over Oakland.

Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers, upped his personal winning streak to 18 with a 34-20 victory over New England. He won his final 13 at Miami of Ohio last season following an opening-game loss, and now is only the second rookie quarterback since the 1970 merger to win his first NFL five starts. He was 18-of-24 for 196 yards and no interceptions and is 39-of-49 in his last two games.

Michael Vick, Falcons, threw two touchdown passes to Peerless Price and accounted for 367 yards of offense in a 41-28 win at Denver. Vick finished with season highs of 115 yards rushing and 252 passing, going 18-of-24.

Receivers

Terrell Owens, Eagles, had eight catches for 101 yards and the winning touchdown in a 15-10 victory over the Ravens. After breaking several tackles to score in the fourth quarter, Owens, known for his innovative celebrations, imitated the dance Baltimore's Ray Lewis does when he's introduced before home games.

Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison, Colts, each had 119 yards and two touchdowns apiece in a 45-35 loss at Kansas City. Chiefs TE Tony Gonzalez had eight catches for 125 yards and two TDs.

Muhsin Muhammad, Panthers, had eight catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns in a 23-17 loss at Seattle.

Willis McGahee, Bills, ran for 102 yards and two scores in a 38-14 victory over the Cardinals. In two starts this season, McGahee has two 100-yard games and has led the Bills to both of their victories. McGahee's two scores were the first of his career, and the first touchdowns rushing in 10 games for Buffalo.

Priest Holmes, Chiefs, overcame an early fumble to finish with 143 yards rushing and three touchdowns and 225 yards overall in a 45-35 win over Indianapolis.

Shawn Springs, Redskins, had two interceptions, both setting up TDs, in a 28-14 loss to Green Bay.

Demarcus Faggins, Texans, returned Byron Leftwich's errant pass 43 yards for a score with 42 seconds left, sending the Houston Texans to a 20-6 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

POLITICAL FOOTBALL

If history holds, the 28-14 Packers victory at Washington portends a victory for John Kerry on Tuesday because the result of the Redskins' final home game before the presidential election has always accurately predicted the White House winner. If the Redskins win, the incumbent party wins. If they lose, the incumbent party is ousted.

OOPS

Texans WR Jabar Gaffney lost the ball during a premature celebration just before crossing the goal line on a 15-yard run, and Jacksonville coach Jack Del Rio challenged the ruling of touchdown. The score was overturned after a quick replay review and the Jaguars quickly seized upon Gaffney's gaffe, going 54 yards in 12 plays for a 44-yard field goal by Josh Scobee.

SPEAKING

"After hearing all week about his numbers this and his numbers that, we wanted to put a number on them," said Will Allen, who had one of New York's two interceptions of Daunte Culpepper in a 34-13 romp.

"I had a little fun out there. I can't do it like he does, but I tried my best. If you don't like what I do, stop me from getting in the end zone." - Owens on his dance.
