Rock women blank Scots

Emma Wright scored on a corner kick in the 56th minute of the game to lead the Slippery Rock University women's soccer team to a 2-0 win over Edinboro Saturday afternoon.

Sarah Arsenault also scored for The Rock. It was the 19th goal of the season for the school's all-time leading scorer.

Freshman goalkeeper Karrine Riggins notched six saves to preserve the shutout for The Rock (11-2-2).

Arseni Grokhovski scored four goals in two games, but the Slippery Rock University men's water polo team fell to Gannon, 12-9, and George Washington, 6-5, over the weekend.Ryan Holt added three goals, three assists and two steals for The Rock (12-12).

Louise Schultz had 31 kills, 10 blocks and two aces as SRU won matches over Frostburg State (Md.), 3-2, and Penn State-Behrend, 3-1, Saturday.The Rock (17-13) has won 11 of its last 15 matches.Grove City High School graduate Gwen Oberlin added 32 digs and six aces for SRU.
