Grove City College senior and Butler graduate Megan Hulick won at first singles Thursday as the Wolverines women's tennis team went on to defeat Allegheny, 8-1, Thursday.

Hulick defeated Lisa Coleman 2-6, 7-5, 11-9 to get her team started. Freshman Kristin McNally, sophomore Lindsay Hosler and senior Nicole Leasure each earned two wins for Grove City.

Grove City (7-1) hosts Washington & Jefferson Monday.

Grove City College improved its winning streak to four games Friday with a 1-0 victory over Waynesburg.Bob McNees scored the game winner in the 84th minute on an assist from Peter Williams. It was his fourth straight game-winner. Joel Gladfelter made two saves in net for the Wolverines (8-5, 4-2).

Kelly Tinney had 13 kills and Kate DiMarco had 10 kills and 14 digs to lead Grove City College to a 30-21, 30-23, 30-19 sweep of Bethany (W.Va.) Friday in PAC action.Kim Walsh added 38 assists, Emily Rossol had 12 digs, Melissa Lawton had 10 digs and Carlie Roberts had five blocks for the Wolverines (9-11, 2-1).

Seneca Valley graduate Greg Slack struck out five in seven innings to lead the Butler County Community College baseball team to a 2-1 win over Penn State-Fayette in the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference playoffs Friday afternoon.Slack surrendered just three hits and walked one.Karns City graduate Nate McCollough tripled, Seneca Valley grad Glenn Sharrar doubled and Butler product Todd Walker singled and had two runs batted in.The Pioneers will travel to Westmoreland County Community College Saturday.
