Students at Young Brothers Tae Kwon-Do will hold a board break-a-thon at 6:30 p.m. today to benefit elderly victims of recent flooding caused by Hurricane Ivan.

Young Brothers schools in Ross, Cranberry Township, Butler, Bellevue, Robinson, Fox Chapel and Indiana, Pa., will participate.

Students will collect donations and will be given boards to break based on the amounts they collected. There will also be various breaking and other tae kwon-do demonstrations.

Young Brothers students have held several successful break-a-thons in the past, collecting money to aid individuals in need and groups such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association, United Way 911 Fund and the Autism Society.

KERSEY, Elk County - A Butler County hunter is among the 40 hunters to get an elk license this year.The Pennsylvania Game Commission awarded the elk licenses in a public drawing at the Pennsylvania Outdoor Elk Expo Sept 25.Out of 22,777 applications, 34 elk licenses were awarded to state residents and six to out-of-state hunters.The names of the hunters who got the licenses were not released.Of the 12 antlered elk licenses awarded, 11 went to Pennsylvanians and one to a hunter from New York. One hunter from Mercer County got a license.Of the 28 antlerless elk licenses awarded, 23 were to Pennsylvanians, three to hunters from New York, one to hunter from Ohio and one to a hunter from Virginia.A Butler County hunter got one of these licenses.

Craig Opacic, Allison Park, on 142-yard, No. 15 hole Wednesday at Pheasant Ridge. He used an 8-iron.Frank Pelaia, on 172-yard No. 2 hole on the Lakes Course at Treesdale Golf and Country Club Tuesday. He used a 6-iron.
