Butler graduate Justin Kerr earned medalist honors with a 78 as the Butler County Community College golf team won a triangular match Friday at Seven Oaks Country Club in Beaver County.

The Pioneers improved to 12-0 and shot 338 as a team, beating Pitt-Titusville by 12 strokes and Penn State-Beaver by 36.

Butler High graduates Nate Bilski and Justin Maskal carded 86s for the Pioneers while Rich Schultz added an 88 and Butler graduate Travis Shingleton added an 89.

BCCC returns to action at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Arthur Country Club, hosting Westmoreland Country Club, Penn State-Beaver and Pitt-Titusville in a quadrangular.

The Slippery Rock University men's and women's cross country teams both brought home first-place finishes from the Sea Gull Opener in Salisbury, Md.Junior Justin Gavazzi was the top Rock finisher on the men's side, finishing third with a time of 26 minutes, 22 seconds.The effort helped SRU tally 44 points in front of Loyola of Maryland (57) and Christopher Newport (73).Seneca Valley graduate Jenna Gostkowski took fifth in the women's competition (23:16) as The Rock's 40 points defeated Christopher Newport (65) and Loyola (81).

Millersville 4, Slippery Rock University 0 -Goalkeeper Tara Bailey made 16 saves, but The Rock fell in this Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference game. Bailey then tallied 21 saves in a 6-0 loss to East Stroudsburg on Sunday.

Grove City College 4, Westminster 1 -Butler graduate Megan Hulick won her singles match over Westminster's Amy Caliguiri (6-1, 6-2) to help the Wolverines pick up this Presidents Athletic Conference win.
