Sto-Rox's Adam DiMichele made first-team all-state in football and basketball, but his love of baseball made him decide to pass up a Penn State football career.

DiMichele asked to be released from his letter of intent at Penn State so he can pursue a college baseball career. He has not yet chosen a college as he awaits Penn State's action on his request.

DiMichele signed with Penn State after playing quarterback and defensive back at Class AA Sto-Rox. He is leading passer in PIAA District 7 (WPIAL) history with 6,741 yards, completing 152 of 279 passes for 2,706 yards and 36 touchdowns last season.

He was projected as a defensive back in college, though DiMichele thought he might get a shot at quarterback.

In baseball, DiMichele (6-foot-1, 175 pounds) is a pitcher-outfielder who hit .551 with seven home runs and 27 RBIs this season. He was 4-3 as a pitcher.
