Slippery Rock University's Karyn McCready won the NCAA Division II women's javelin national championship Saturday with a heave of 164 feet.
The mark was a school and PSAC record.
McCready also held the previous SRU mark of 156-1, set last season.
SRU's Calista Shoaff and Laura Ryhal also competed in the javelin competition.
Hoaff placed ninth (135-9) and Ryhal's best effort was 122-8, though she did not place.
Also in women's competition, SRU's Andi Rose finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.1 seconds, good enough for All-America honors.
