Mary Brown of Grove City College placed second at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships at Crispin Golf Club in Wheeling, W. Va., Friday.

Brown carded an 85-42-127, two strokes behind Washington & Jefferson's Lynne Szarnicki (83-42-125).

Kerry Gutherie of Thiel, a graduate of Karns City, placed 11th (98-53-151).

Jess Flick, a sophomore pitcher on the Grove City College softball team, allowed just two unearned runs in five innings to help the Wolverines defeat Thiel 6-2 in a Presidents Athletic Conference tournament game Friday.Flick surrendered just two hits in helping Grove City (14-8) advance to the next round.

Top-seeded Bethany College beat Grove City College, 8-7, Friday to eliminate the Wolverines from the Presidents' Athletic Conference Tournament.Senior second baseman Jake Cuthbert had five hits, including a home run, three RBI and two runs scored for Grove City.
