SRU baseball team splits with IUP
The Slippery Rock University baseball team split a pair of double headers against PSAC-West rival Indiana University of Pennsylvania over the weekend.
The Rock took both games on Saturday at IUP. Steve Norris was the star in the first game, a 3-2 decision.
Norris struck out eight and scattered seven hits in a complete game performance.
Chase Rowe collected three hits in the second game, a 9-3 win for SRU. Rocky D'Angelo pitched a complete game for the victory.
Sunday afternoon saw the Indians return the favor, winning both games by scores of 2-1 and 7-3.
Joe Pascarella tallied three hits, a run scored and an RBI in the twin-bill.
John Katich and Derek Blyzwick took the losses for the Rock (29-21, 11-9), respectively.

Nikki Banner doubled, scored and drove in a run. Conron took the loss for SRU (15-27, 4-16).
