The Pittsburgh JOTS AAU fifth-grade boys basketball team won the TD Sports Tournament last weekend in Sewickley.

Butler area players Nate Snodgrass, Grant Foley and Bobby Swarthout were members of the team, which went 4-0.

The Butler Archers had five shooters earn awards at the Pennsylvania State Archery Association's state indoor championships last weekend at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg.Brad Patsy placed first in the men's Pro Class with a score of 1,197; Cory Hildebrand placed third in the Men's Unlimited A Class (1,170); Chad Watterson was second in the Men's Freestyle AA Class (1,164) and Duane Lucas placed first in the Men's FITA Class (968).Ryan Beilstein received the aggregate Shooter of the Year Award for 2003 in the Intermediate Unlimited AA Class (1,138), Target (1,920), Field and Hunter (1,017) and Bowhunter/Animal score (1,045).
