Slippery Rock University wrestlers lost all four of their opening matches Thursday at the NCAA Division I National Championships at the Savvis Center in St. Louis.

Freshman Ben Watson (125 pounds) and Ben Young (149) lost via technical fall, Watson by a 17-2 score and Young by a 16-1 score.

Junior co-captains Brad Cieleski (157) and Jason Cardillo (165) dropped decisions: Cieleski had a 24-match win streak stopped when he lost 5-3, while Cardillo lost 9-4.

Cieleski entered the match ranked 18th and Cardillo was ranked 20th in the nation by TheWrestlingMat.com.

Watson will face the winner of an elimination match between Peter Derstine of Clarion and Casey Brewster of West Virginia in his next match, while Young will face Tony Hook of Oregon State. Cieleski will meet Penn State's James Woodall, and Cardillo meets Kelly Flaherty of Wisconsin.
