The Jean B. Purvis Community Health Center has implemented a new diabetic management program utilizing a continuous glucose monitoring system.

A news release from the center said the program uses a Freestyle Libre censor to monitor patients, and is being funded by a grant from Abbott, the creator of the Freestyle Libre system, and PNC Bank.

The center will host a meeting with staff, patients and a representative from Abbott at 3 p.m. Sept. 28 to provide more information.
