American Rescue Act is life-changing
Have you noticed a bit more money in your bank account lately? Maybe you received a stimulus payment from the American Rescue Act. Perhaps you’re a parent who started getting $300 a month for each child to help meet the everyday expenses of raising children.
Have you noticed that your local municipality can balance the budget this year without raising your taxes? The American Rescue Act set aside $6 billion to help local governments in Pennsylvania recover from the fiscal shortfalls of 2020.
I live in Adams Township, which received $731,638. Go online and see how much your municipality received.
Democrats in Congress passed the American Rescue Act, and our Democratic president signed it into law. Not a single Republican in the House or Senate voted for it. My Congressman, Mike Kelly, voted no, yet he is sending me emails now taking credit for it.
I’m not fooled. I know the Republicans in Congress tried to kill this bill at every turn. Thankfully, they didn’t succeed. I know the Democrats are using all the tools of the federal government to help us. I know who has my back, and it’s not the Republicans.
The American Rescue Act is life-changing. It will cut child poverty and hunger in half. It offers real, tangible help for those who need it, not the billionaires. Democrats know that in tough times, Americans help each other, and they’re ready to help now. Passing the American Rescue Act proves it.
