Butler residents appointed to FBI citizens board

Butler resident Lisa R. Fox has been named to the 2021 board of directors of the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association (CAAA)'s Pittsburgh chapter.

The FBI CAAA is an outreach and education program that invites regional business and nonprofit leaders and educators to learn the inside details of how the FBI works to protect Americans.

Board members can participate in members-only field trips, range days and other official events, including a trip to FBI headquarters and Quantico, Va.

It also can nominate high school juniors to participate in the FBI's annual Spring Teen Academy.

Fox is a member of the 2014 FBI CAAA class and received the Pittsburgh FBI Director's Community Leadership Award that year.Since 2007, she has been CEO of The Bradley Center in Pittsburgh, which helps children in Pennsylvania and West Virginia overcome severe trauma histories and empowers them to become productive, engaged and proactive community members.“I am so grateful to join the board of directors for the Pittsburgh CAAA, which serves a vital role in helping educate people about the differences between the ways law enforcement is so often portrayed in the media versus the very real dangers and challenges that these brave men and women face in their tireless efforts to protect the American public,” Fox said.“I look forward to helping our local CAAA amplify the reach of its educational mission,” she said.Fox also supports environmental causes locally and nationally, works with local animal shelters and is a trained and successful beekeeper.One other Butler resident, Dennis Baglier, was among the eight additional board members appointed to the Pittsburgh FBI CAAA.Baglier is president of Baglier Buick GMC and Baglier Mazda.
