Sentencing Court

Judge Timothy McCune handed down the following sentences Thursday:

Azza M. Gaines, 41, of Chicora, was sentenced to one year of probation, 10 hours of community service and must pay a $238 restitution for receiving stolen property. Gaines was charged Sept. 27 and pleaded guilty Jan. 13.

Tara L. Hockenberry, 28, of Butler was sentenced to one year of probation and a $100 fine for possession of drug paraphernalia. Hockenberry was charged Aug. 14 and pleaded guilty Feb. 16.

James R. Best, 40, of North Lima, Ohio, was sentenced to one year of probation and a $100 fine for retail theft. Best was charged June 4 and pleaded guilty Feb. 2.

Shannon Lee Holmes, 27, of Prospect was sentenced to six months of probation and a $300 fine for driving under the influence. It was her first offense. Holmes was charged March 11, 2019, and pleaded guilty Feb. 2. In a second case, she was sentenced to five years of probation with the first 105 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring and must pay a $1,500 fine for driving under the influence. It was her second offense. She was charged Feb. 24, 2020, and pleaded guilty Feb. 2.

William A. Negley, 37, no known address, was sentenced to one year of probation and a $100 fine for terroristic threats. Negley was charged June 14 and pleaded guilty March 4.
