Butler handles county neighbor Knoch 80 to 49 in basketball
Butler's boys basketball team cruised to an 80-49 victory at Knoch Saturday afternoon. The game marked the first between the two programs since 2009 and was the first time they've ever met on Knoch's floor.
Devin Carney scored 26 points for Butler (3-1), pulling within nine of 1,000 for his high school career. The Golden Tornado play Tuesday night at Pine-Richland.
Raine Gratzmiller had 15 points, eight assists and four steals with Madden Clement adding 12 points for Butler. The Tornado had only six turnovers to Knoch's 16.
Ryan Lang had 21 points, six rebounds and three assists for Knoch. Keagan Fraser had 10 points and five rebounds.
