Halin 50th anniversary
George and Karol Halin of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage. A surprise Hawaiian luau party was planned by their three daughters and their families. The Halins had planned a Hawaiian cruise to celebrate their anniversary, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Halin married the former Karol Jo Holder on July 11, 1970, at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church in West Mifflin.
They have three children, Lisa (Matthew) Burek, Kara (Matthew) Geibel and Krista (Craig) McCaslin, all of Butler.
They also have seven grandchildren.Halin is a retired Moniteau High School teacher.Mrs. Halin is a retired South Butler County School District teacher.The Halins enjoy collecting antiques, attending car cruises and oldies concerts, gardening, traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren.The Halins are members of the American Austin Bantam Car Club, the Butler Old Stone House Antique Car Club and St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
