Lamb gets county votes in bid for auditor general

Many Butler County Democrats threw their support behind Michael Lamb for Pennsylvania auditor general, indicating he’s the county’s nominee, according to unofficial results.

Other Democrats in the race were Nina Ahmad with 1,953 votes; Christina M. Hartman with 888 votes; H. Scott Conklin with 543 votes; Rosie Marie Davis with 410 votes and Tracie Fountain with 693 votes from county residents.

Write-in nominations totaled 67.

Some write-in ballots were included in election results released by the county Tuesday night.

Ahmad, deputy mayor of Philadelphia, had strong support statewide Tuesday, and many of the ballots in the southeast section of the state had yet to be counted.

Gov. Tom Wolf on Monday signed an executive order extending the time frame for mail-in and absentee ballots to be received and counted in Allegheny, Dauphin, Delaware, Erie, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, giving until 5 p.m. on June 9 for tabulation to be completed. Ballots must have been postmarked no later than Tuesday.

After unsuccessfully running for the nomination in the 2005 Pittsburgh mayoral primary, Pittsburgh Controller Lamb won the controller’s office nomination and the election in 2007 and took office in 2008. He unsuccessfully sought the nomination for state auditor general in 2019.

Things may change this year. Lamb pulled in 11,040 votes from Democrats who voted in person Tuesday night and some who submitted ballots via mail.
