Walmart workers to have temps taken

In three weeks, all Walmart stores, clubs and distribution centers will be getting infrared thermometers to take the temperature of workers, the company announced.

According to a news release signed by John Furner, president and CEO of Walmart U.S., and Kath McLay, president and CEO of Sam’s Club, any worker with a temperature of 100 degrees will be paid for reporting to work and asked to return home and seek medical treatment if necessary for the coronavirus. The worker will not be able to return to work until they are fever-free for at least three days.

Additionally, workers will be given the option to wear high-quality masks at work. The masks are expected to be delivered to all stores in a week or two and while they are noted to be high quality, they won’t be the N95 masks which are only meant for medical workers, according to the news release.
