One man flown to Pittsburgh hospital

Butler police are investigating a shooting and a reported home invasion this morning. The incidents are believed to be related.

The first call came in about 6:20 a.m. on Brown Avenue in Butler Township near the city line and involved a male with a gunshot wound. He was subsequently flown by medical helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital.

A short time later, police said they got a call for a home invasion on Negley Avenue in the city's Island neighborhood involving three males.

Police said they learned the male found shot was reported to have been one of those involved in the home invasion.

It was not immediately known where or when the male was shot.

The investigation continues and no other information was available at this time.
