Retiring prothonotary says vote for Painter

I have been honored to be the Butler County prothonotary for the past 36 years.

You have trusted me to run an extremely important office that is vital to our court systems for nine terms.

Now, as I retire, I can tell you that there is only one candidate that has the knowledge and experience to take on the complexities of this office and guarantee a smooth transition in my absence and with a newly appointed judge.

It is vital for the prothonotary’s office to have a leader who knows first-hand how to process custodies, divorces, mortgage foreclosures, tax assessment appeals, ejectments, landlord/tenant appeals and protection from abuses, just to name a few of the very important cases that our office handles.

The next prothonotary needs to be familiar with the Pennsylvania Rules of Civil Procedure and the Butler County local rules to ensure that the documents are processed correctly and are accurate for the courts and for the people of Butler County.

I have worked side-by-side with my current First Deputy Prothonotary Paula J. Painter and know that she is more than qualified to become your next prothonotary. She has trained for this exact position for nearly 19 years.

There is no doubt in my mind that she will be in the office each day working hard to make sure that the records are processed accurately and that she will serve the taxpayers of Butler County with due diligence.

Please join me on Nov. 5 in voting for Paula J. Painter for Butler County prothonotary.

Thank you.

Glenna M. Walters,

Clinton Township
