Tanner Merwin intercepted three passes, returning two for touchdowns Saturday as Union/A-C Valley cruised to a 32-7 football win at Port Allegany.

The win improved the Falcon Knights to 5-1 this season.

Merwin contributed six tackles as well. Gaven Bowser led Union/A-C Valley with 10 tackles while Layton Stewart, Kylar Culberson and Leroy Byler had seven each.

The Falcon Knights had a 14-7 lead at halftime. The Gators (1-5) scored their lone touchdown on Drew Evens' 61-yard strike to Howie Stuckey. Evens threw for 146 yards on the day.

Luke Bowser threw for 115 yards and a touchdown for Union/A-C Valley. Culbertson rushed for 93 yards and a score. Merwin caught Bowser's touchdown pass and Caden Rainey had five catches for 56 yards.

The Falcon Knights host Keystone Friday night.

Ryan Davey scored a pair of goals and Nick Kingerski added one Saturday as Slippery Rock defeated Freeport, 3-1.Hunter Hardin scored for the Yellowjackets.Butler 6, Shaler 0 — Emery Douthett scored three goals to lead the Golden Tornado to this win.Jack Beneigh added a pair of goals and Tyler Horniacek also found the net for Butler.Josh Burlingham had two assists and Peyton Seibert and Noah Wolford combined in goal for the shutout.

Akina Boynton scored two goals and also had an assists as Freeport downed Springdale 4-1.Sidney Shemanski and Aleah Parison also scored and had assists in the victory for the Yellowjackets (8-2).
