2 take lead jobs in Concordia system

Good Samaritan Hospice posts filled

JEFFERSON TWP — Concordia's Good Samaritan Hospice recently filled two leadership positions.

Roni Lucas of Butler was named executive director of the hospice facility, and Wendy Moore of Madison Township in Armstrong County was appointed director of operations.

Keith E. Frndak, Concordia Lutheran Ministries president and CEO, announced the leadership changes last week.

Lucas began her career at Concordia in 1998 as program director for residents of the Lund Care Center on the Cabot campus after earning a bachelor's degree in marketing from Penn State University.

In 2007, she moved to marketing coordinator for Concordia Visiting Nurses, and transitioned into that position at Good Samaritan Hospice in 2010.

After completing studies to become a registered nurse, Lucas became the nurse liaison for Good Samaritan until April 2017, when she was appointed interim executive director of Concordia Hospice of Washington, Pa. She has since served as director of customer experience at Good Samaritan.

Lucas and her husband, Ken, have a 22-year-old daughter who is also a nurse.

Moore has served as director of nursing for Concordia in Cabot since 2011. Last year, she accepted the position of corporate director of nursing.

Moore holds an associate degree in nursing from Butler County Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in health science from Slippery Rock University.

She and her husband, Dana, have two sons, Landen, 12, and Connor, 8.
