MARS — As part of its summer reading program, Mars Area Public Library will host “Searching the Stars” at 2 p.m. Tuesday for kids in grades two to six.

The program will be presented by Jennings Environmental Center staff at the library, 107 Grand Ave.

According to library officials, 400 children and 26 adults are enrolled for the “Universe of Stories” summer reading program.

Also planned are Steam Saturday: Planet Explorers at 10:30 a.m. July 13, for children in kindergarten to grade three, and Music and Movement at 10:30 a.m. July 15, for children ages 3 to 5. Just Add Water, presented by the Carnegie Science Center, for children ages 3 to 5, will be offered at 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. July 17.

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Young-Waldenmyer family reunion will begin at noon Sunday at Armco Park Hall, 341 Centerville Pike.Dinner is at 2 p.m. Take a dish to share. Drinks and sandwich fixings will be provided.There will be an auction so take a child’s gift. Swimming is available.
