Schmidt 50th anniversary
Martin and Jeannette Schmidt of Butler will celebrate 50 years of marriage with a family dinner at the Villa restaurant in Cadogan later this summer.
Schmidt married the former Jeannette Colonna on June 7, 1969, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Kittanning.
They have three children, U.S. Army SFC (retired) Marty (Rosalie) Schmidt of Lawton, Okla., Jana (Todd) Karenbauer of Butler, and Rachel (Matt) Nelson of Burgettstown.
They also have five grandchildren.
Schmidt is a retired social studies teacher and maintenance department member with the Butler School District.His wife is a retired instrumental and vocal music teacher with the Butler School District.The Schmidts are members of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church and regular church volunteers.
