Local students received the College Chemistry Award presented by the Society for Analytical Chemists of Pittsburgh at the Annual Awards Dinner May 14 at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
Winners include: Gannon University senior Andrea Cygan, a 2015 Butler Senior High School graduate, She is the daughter of Andrew and Teresa Cygan. Thiel College student Jessica Campbell, a 2016 Moniteau Jr./Sr. High School graduate. She is the daughter of Michael and Lynn Campbell. Slippery Rock University student Austin Wilhelm, a 2015 Butler Senior High School graduate. He is the son of Erin and Daniel Wilhelm.

Erin Neff of Valencia was among students recognized at the honors award ceremony during Baldwin Wallace University’s Ovation Festival 2019, an annual celebration of student achievement.
Neff, a Mars High School graduate who is majoring in neuroscience psychology and psychology, received the Overmyer Achievement Award.
Local students were among over 180 students whose academic work was showcased during the festival’s Day of Excellence. Another local student honored at the ceremony Chris Banfield of Valencia.

Point Park University graduate Gabrielle Hamilton won a Chita Rivera Award for Outstanding Female Dancer in a Broadway Show for her performance in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!”
The awards were presented May 19 at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts in New York.

Megan Ann Czekalski of Saxonburg earned The John T. Lowry Jr. Prize prior to the 2019 commencement ceremony May 19 at Bucknell University.

Grove City College students took two of the top three spots in the Chartered Financial Analyst Society of Pittsburgh’s 2019 financial planning competition. Rob Kunst of Butler took first place and Anna Sweger of Carlisle came in third.
