6th Annual Lake Arthur Striper Fishing Tournament

May 15 to June 15

Lake Arthur at Moraine State Park, 225 Pleasant Valley Road, Portersville

The fishing tournament is a 32-day catch and release paper/photo fishing tournament for the hybrid striped bass. The tournament's top prize is $300 and participants receive a tournament T-shirt. Mars Exploration Celebration Days

May 31-June 2

Western Pennsylvania Solo Canoe Rendezvous

All day, May 31-June 2

Cooper's Lake Campground, 205 Currie Road, Slippery Rock

The rendezvous is a gathering of canoe enthusiasts and features demonstrations of FreeStyle paddling; assorted programs on canoe design, construction and use; and entertainment. WINGFEST AT THE BEACON

Vote on the best wings in Butler County at the fourth annual event. Winners will be tallied at 3:30 p.m. in the categories of hottest, most creative and best overall. Admission is $25 in advance or $30 at the door.

Seven Fields Community Days

The ninth annual Seven Fields Community Days Carnival features live music by Velveeta on June 7 and Dancing Queen on June 8. Fireworks provided by Pyrotecnico will be displayed June 9.

Early American Days

Free admission as you step back in time and experience activities of early America: Dip a candle, play a colonial game, make ice cream, churn butter and punch tin. Enjoy the food and fellowship of the early American stagecoach stop and tavern. This event is sponsored by Friends of the Old Stone House.

Summer Wine Walk

BUTLER RIB & MUSIC FESTIVAL

Butler Farm Show Grounds

This inaugural event offers both rock and rib connoisseurs music and barbeque. The festival offers three days of continuous live performances while BBQ pit masters serve up sizzling ribs, chicken and more. Admission is $5 per person.

Whispering Pines Festival in the woods

June 15 and 16

Whispering Pines Farm, 201 Winsome Lane, Cabot

Held twice a year — the third weekend in June and September — the festival features artisans, vintage repurposed, industrial, antiques, jewelry, decor, botanical, garden art, blacksmith and artisan demonstrations. Antique tractors will be on display all weekend with antique cars and trucks show on Father's Day. Admission is $7; children 12 and younger are admitted free. Big Butler Fair

Big Butler Fairgrounds, 1127 New Castle Road, Prospect

The Big Butler Fair features fireworks, a midway, games, demolition derbies, concerts, truck pulls, livestock judging and arts competitions. Brewers and one apprentice attend at no charge.
