Planets win pair in south
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Mars collected 19 hits in winning its first two games of the season Friday at the Cal Ripken Complex in Myrtle Beach.
The Planets defeated Sullivan East (Tenn.), 7-2, in their first game. Matt Schultz homered while Rowan Fletcher, Matt Fuller and Tyler Kowalkowski all had two hits.
Mars defeated Cardinal O'Hare out of Philadelphia, 7-2, in its second game. Fletcher homered and Teddy Ruffner had a double, single and RBI. Fuller had two singles in that game as well.
Wetherholt and Fuller were the winning pitchers, both working three innings.
