Mars students to perform 'Disney's Beauty and the Beast'

The Mars High School cast of “Disney's Beauty and the Beast” rehearsed in the high school auditorium on Monday in preparation for opening night Friday.

ADAMS TWP — Mars High School is presenting the musical “Disney's Beauty and the Beast.”

Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Friday and at 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the high school auditorium, 545 Route 228.

Tickets are $10. Call the school at 724-625-1581 for tickets, which will also be available at the door if available.

Directors, including vocal director, set designer, costume designer and producers are Jennifer Kennedy and Susan Kaminski.

Jamie DeMarco is the choreographer.

“Disney's Beauty and the Beast” tells the story of an arrogant young prince and his castle's servants who fall under the spell of a wicked enchantress, who turns the prince into the hideous Beast until he learns to love and be loved in return.

The spirited, headstrong village girl Belle enters the Beast's castle.

With the help of his enchanted servants, including the matronly Mrs. Potts, Belle begins to draw the cold-hearted Beast out of his isolation.
