The Butler Junior High wrestling team placed 12th out of 36 teams recently at the North Allegheny Tournament.

Greg Schultz pinned all four of his opponents for the Golden Tornado to win the 250-pound weight class. Kelley Schaukowitsch won four matches to place fourth at 80 pounds. Cade Savochka reached the semifinals at 138 and placed fourth.

Butler hosts Kiski Area Feb. 13.

Hockey

Aaron Shoup scored the tying goal with less than five minutes to play as Butler Middle School (9-0-3) stayed unbeaten by posting a 1-1 tie with West Allegheny.

Owen Denny assisted on the goal. Lauren LeGrand stopped 20 of 21 shots on net.

Butler plays Beaver at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at Brady’s Run Park Ice Arena.
