The annual Butler K of C Hoop Shoot will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 19 in the Butler Catholic gym.

Age divisions, boys and girls, for the free throw shooting contest are 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13.

There is no fee. Simply come to the gym and participate.

NEW SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Springfield Intermediate and Springfield Local High School are hosting a boys and girls basketball tournament for grades 4-6.

Entry fee is $125 per team. The tourney runs Feb. 16-17, Feb. 23-24 and March 2-3. It consists of pool play and a single-elimination tournament.

NORRISTOWN — The seventh annual Beaver County Polar Bear Plunge, to benefit Special Olympics Pennsylvania, takes place at noon Saturday at the Bridgewater Landings Marina in Beaver.

Registration opens at 9:30 a.m. The Plunge invites participants of all ages (under 18 requires parent or guardian signature) to dip into the Beaver River.
