Sentencing Court

Butler County Judge William Shaffer handed down the following sentences Thursday:

Gregory Daniel Loos Jr., 38, of Indiana was sentenced to 60 months of intermediate punishment after pleading guilty to driving under the influence. He also pleaded guilty to driving with a blood-alcohol level greater than .02. For that, he was sentenced to 90 days of house arrest and must serve 150 hours of community service. Loos was charged on July 16 with four DUI counts and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Matthew J. Mahlmeister, 34, of Sarver was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months of county probation for reckless endangerment of another person after pleading guilty Oct. 1. He was charged on Jan. 10, 2017, with three counts of DUI, disregarding traffic lanes and failing to keep right.

Wallace E. Fleming Jr., 59, of Butler was sentenced to 1 to 2 years of incarceration for a simple assault charge after pleading guilty Oct. 3. He was immediately paroled for credit for time served. Fleming was initially charged on Dec. 28, 2017.

In another case for simple assault, Fleming was sentenced to 1 to 2 years incarceration and was immediately paroled. He plead guilty Oct. 4 and was initially charged on Dec. 22, 2016.

Lee Harless, 50, of Butler was sentenced to 1 year of probation for an accident involving damage of a vehicle. He pleaded guilty Oct. 3. He was originally facing an additional charge of careless driving. He was charged Dec. 25, 2016. In a separate case, he was sentenced to 1 year of county probation for theft after pleading guilty Oct. 3. He originally faced three charges of theft and one charge of receiving stolen property. He was charged with these offenses Oct. 1, 2016.

Josh Andrew McCaslin, 29, of Butler must pay a $150 fine for disorderly conduct. He pleaded guilty Oct. 3. He also originally faced a trespass charge. He was arrested Feb. 21.

Laura Lynn McCrea, 30, of Natrona Heights pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 1 year of county probation for recklessly endangering another person. She was arrested Aug. 23, 2016, for two drug charges and endangering the welfare of children. In another case, she was sentenced to 1 year of county probation and will pay a $75 fine for possessing drug paraphernalia after pleading guilty Sept. 5.

James Allen Petrigini, 53, of Butler was sentenced to 3 to 6 months of county probation for driving under the influence, which he pleaded guilt to Nov. 8. The other charges that he originally faced, but were dropped, Aug. 1 were three DUI charges, depositing waste on highway, driving without a license and careless driving.

Michael Eric Webb, 50, of Butler was sentenced to 6 months of county probation for possessing drug paraphernalia and must also serve 60 hours of community service. For driving under the influence, he must pay a $1,000 fine and will be jailed for 72 hours to 6 months. He pleaded guilty Oct. 15 and originally faced additional charges of careless driving and disregarding traffic lanes. He was charged April 7.

Christopher Lee Smith, 31, of Chicora was sentenced to 1 year of county probation for possessing drug paraphernalia and one year for disorderly conduct. He must also pay a $75 fine and was initially charged April 10 with two drug manufacturing charges, driving an unregistered vehicle and operating a vehicle without a valid inspection. Those charges were dropped Sept. 5 when he entered a guilty plea.

Johnny Spell, 23, of Pittsburgh was sentenced to 6 to 12 months in jail for retail theft but he was immediately paroled. He must also pay restitution. As part of his guilty plea agreement that he entered Oct. 3, two charges of receiving stolen property were dropped. He was first charged April 21, 2017.

Julia Ann Walker, 49, of Fenelton was sentenced to 1 to 6 months for criminal mischief, damage property, but was immediately paroled. She pleaded guilty Oct. 3 and originally faced charges of burglary, criminal attempt and two charges of criminal mischief. She was charged with these crimes on April 5. She must also pay restitution.
