KC ends season with win
Erik Pfeifer caught a pair of touchdown passes from Anthony Kamenski and Kamenski also rushed for a score as the Karns City football team closed their season with a 34-12 road win Friday night over Titusville.
Kamenski completed just four passes, but two of them went from TDs to Pfeifer.
The first covered 8 yards and put the Gremlins up 7-0 midway through the first quarter.
The second capped the scoring from the 6 with 11:55 remaining in the game.
Kamenski's 41-yard run for a score in the third quarter gave Karns City (4-6) some breathing room.
Dalton Pyle also had an 89-yard kickoff return for a touchdown following a 9-yard kickoff return for a score by Titusville's Landon Palma.
Hunter Jones led Karns City's ground attack with 86 yards on 15 carries. Mitchell Kelsea added 32 yards on four carries, including a 12-yard touchdown, and Devin Ryan had 42 yards on seven carries.
The Gremlins held the Rockets to just 177 total yards.
Ridgway 21, Union/A-C Valley 7 — Jonathan Powell rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown, but the Falcon Knights closed the regular season with a road loss.
Luke Bowser was 7 of 14 for 52 yards passing for Union/A-C Valley (4-6).
Caden Rainey and Nolan Cumberland each had an interception for Union's defense.
Tennis
Laura Greb won her No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-0, to set the tone for Knoch in a 3-2 win over Scranton Prep in the PIAA 2A quarterfinals at the Hershey Racquet Club.
The Knights move on to play Wyomissing in the semifinals Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
Should Knoch win, it will play for a state title against either Sewickley Academy or Lower Moreland at 3:30 p.m. at the Hershey Racquet Club.
Brooke Bauer also easily won her No. 2 singles match, 6-0, 6-0.
The clincher came when the Knights doubles tandem of Libby Conlon and Alex Jaksec won 7-6 (4), 4-6, 6-1.
