Two arrested for holding drugs

Discovery made in house check

Two people were arrested Thursday after more than 100 stamp bags of suspected heroin were found at their apartment during a probation compliance check in Butler.

Joseph P. Fulmer, 40, and Calicia M. Ledoux, 30, are both being held in Butler County Prison.

Butler police went to the apartment on the 400 block of West North Street about 2:30 p.m. to assist probation officers making a house check. The probation officers were looking for Ledoux, police said.

A search of the apartment, according to court documents, turned up two “bricks” of suspected heroin in Fulmer's bedroom.

A brick is a street term for 50 glassine bags of heroin or other opiates bundled in groups of 10.

Along with the bundled heroin, officers found 13 individual stamp bags of suspected heroin and two digital scales, police said

Fulmer later that night was arraigned on felony charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy, and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

He was placed in the county jail on $50,000 bail following arraignment. His preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 1.

Ledoux was promptly placed in the prison on a detainer for the probation violation. Police said she is also facing drug-related charges including conspiracy. She was not immediately arraigned.

Court records showed she was on probation stemming from her conviction in March on a charge of receiving stolen property in a 2017 case.
