Tornado netter in semifinal
Butler No. 1 singles player Reagan Sommariva reached the section semifinals Wednesday in girls tennis action.
Sommariva defeated Seneca Valley's Haley Davenziner 10-0 in the first round, then topped Mars' Emily Ivory 10-7 in the second round to get to the semifinals.
Semifinal action gets under way at 1 p.m. Thursday at North Allegheny. Butler No. 2 singles player Lexi Chappel dropped a 10-1 decision to Moon's No. 1 player.

Freshman Paige Scott carded a 39 Wednesday to lead Butler to a 178-242 victory over Kiski Area.
