[naviga:h3]Herman VFC sets Community Day[/naviga:h3]

HERMAN — The Herman Volunteer Fire Co. will host Community Day from 4 p.m. until fireworks at dusk Saturday at its fire hall, 789 Herman Road.

The free event will feature children’s activities, a bounce slide and obstacle course, free hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks, emergency vehicles, a wood carver, a fire safety education house, a search and rescue dog demonstration and a magician at 7 p.m.

[naviga:h3]Church soup sale, flea market slated[/naviga:h3]

PROSPECT — St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 229 N. Franklin St. will run a homemade soup and flea market sale from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 14 and 15.

Soup sales, featuring potato, chicken noodle, wedding and Italian minestrone tortellini, are takeout only. All offers will be accepted on flea market items.

[naviga:h3]Library schedules book tent sale[/naviga:h3]

SAXONBURG — The South Butler Community Library will have a used book sale in the library patio, 240 West Main St., Friday through Sunday.

The hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The Friends of the Library host the sale in support of the library.

[naviga:h3]Motorcycle ride aids Robin’s Home[/naviga:h3]

A motorcycle ride to benefit Robin’s Home, a supportive housing program for temporarily homeless female veterans and their children, will be Saturday.

There will be a 9 a.m. registration at Cabot United Methodist Church, 707 Winfield Road, Cabot.

[naviga:h3]‘Ride for Memories’ back for 2nd year[/naviga:h3]

The Butler Salvation Army “Ride for Memories” Benefit Ride will begin with a 9 a.m. sign-in Saturday at 313 W. Cunningham St. Kickstands go up at 10:30 a.m.

After the self-guided ride, there will be a spaghetti dinner beginning at 4 p.m.

[naviga:h3]Coin show runs this weekend[/naviga:h3]

Coins and More Promotions will have its 8th Invitational Fall Coin Show from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Monroeville Convention Center, 209 Mall Boulevard, Monroeville.
